JESSIKA PORTNEY

Jessika Portney serves as an executive leadership coach, facilitator, and speaker. She has worked in the field of leadership development for over a decade, supporting leaders of all backgrounds and tenures.

Clients value Jessika’s deep curiosity about the human experience and ability to create a warm environment to be vulnerable and dig deep. She became a coach to honor these gifts and create space for those who want to do transformational work. Jessika finds true joy in partnering with clients to help them embrace their unique strengths and manifest their potential.

In addition to her work with individual clients, Jessika facilitates leadership development training programs for non-profit organizations and government agencies. She helps groups strengthen team dynamics and develop skills such as resilience, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. To design effective trainings, she collaborates with relevant stakeholders to identify key learning objectives and tailor content to achieve powerful results. By providing practical tools and skill-building resources, she makes it possible for participants to maximize their learning experience and continue to grow over the long-term. Her approach to leadership has been informed by her many cross-cultural experiences including studying and teaching abroad, as well as management of international programs.

 

A charismatic keynote speaker, Jessika creates an engaging, motivational, and high-energy atmosphere for conference and training events. She speaks on a variety of leadership topics, including development of one’s “superpowers” or unique strengths, the connection between spirituality and leadership, women’s leadership, and the power of community.

Jessika’s background includes program management for Fulbright leadership development fellowships and USAID scholarship and leadership training programs. She also oversaw leadership programs at the Brookings Institution where she designed and facilitated the Executive Fellowship and Women’s Leadership cohort programs. Additionally, she spent several years living and teaching in Italy.

Jessika is a graduate of the Flow Coaching Institute, a member of the International Coach Federation, and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC). She obtained an M.A. in government and politics with a concentration in international relations and a certificate in diplomacy and international law from St. John’s University in Rome, Italy. She received a B.A. dual degree in communication and Italian language and literature from the University of Maryland, College Park.
